my sketch book is always in front of me. you should see the pages and pages of lettering. while emailing every design firm in New York I am constantly sketching.  Wish i could find someone to pay me to do that all day every day! haha

put together a complete LeaveBehind package to take to interviews.  still have 15 of these to make if i feel so inclined. 

the package comes complete with a small portfolio booklet, business card, cd with works sample, pdf portfolio, and resume, and contacts on the back.  i feel like these would be great to send to branding or package design firms, the interactive places seem less than amused to see anything on paper tho.  sorry i don’t own an iPad haha, heck if i stay unemployed for much longer i won’t own anything at all!

that being said: if you are in the New York area and find yourself in the position to hire a creative, awesome, super talented junior graphic designer, give me a shout. i’ll earn every penny!

life in the city is going well, walk ashley to school every morning, make breakfast, hang out with the pup all day, send a million emails that will never be replied to to design firms and companies, and wait for ash to get home, hang out with her for a bit, then walk her to work and wait for her to get off and meet her at the subway! haha yay! awesome days! but they have gone by fairly well due to Wimbledon being on all day. of course thats means next week is going to be really boring, i guess i could send every company in new york TWO emails haha. or start calling on my cell that doesn’t work, or knocking on doors. not sure what the preferred method of job searching is in NY.

this is from a few weeks back. me and ash stayed up all night the day of graduation and the day before we moved back to dallas. pretty crazy night. but we got all of my self promos cut, folded, and screen printed. 

just cut out the inside areas yesterday and still have to adhesive the sides together. yay. also still have to finish my portfolio, leave behind, and pdf portfolio and then have all of that printed, stitched, and then delivered to me and then sent out. but can’t send anything out until i put together my resume, letters of recommendation, and cover letters for each place i want to send them too…….ohman!

trip to austin soon. hopefully that will help loosen me and ash up and prepare us for the coming insanity. 

got approved for our apartment today! so moving in a few days! crazy

heres my digital photography final. not gonna lie, barely got this one out. took some pics downtown with james and then added some typography to the walls. just did a quick sketch for each and did my best to make it look natural. 

just took a million photos of my senior show branding and personal branding. hopefully ill have those up sooner rather than later. 

more work to do still. gotta finalize all projects and remake my portfolio, leavebehinds, and pdf portfolio. lucky me!

happy graduation to all

made another round of business cards today. never showed the first batch, phone decided to delete all the photos. screen printed them onto basic cardstock. this time got better paper from Leif. some 300lb cotton paper. really nice. typically used for letter press. me and james painted the edges ourselves! three edges turned out really nice, one…not so much. but thats fine, i actually like the grungyness, hope others do aswell. some chipboard came with the cards so went ahead and printed on that too.

havent slept in forever…again. still so much todo. today was supposed to be the day it all got done. maybe not. 

ever get that feeling youre forgetting something. hate that. pretty sure im forgetting something, fairly important too…
